~CL - Violet (Shepherd mix) Large - Female

Violet is a gorgeous Shepherd mix who is house trained, roughly 2-years-old and incredibly sweet.  When she was found as a stray on a cold January night, she was terrified, smelled horrible and was very underweight and
dehydrated.  She had sores from where her harness had been rubbing her skin for so long. Because her collar was too tight and had no end, it had to be cut off with bolt cutters.  Every time we tried to pet her, she cowered in fear. When we got her to a safe place, she was checked out by a vet. Clean, warm and fed, she curled up and slept for hours, as she had obviously been through a lot.  Over the next few days, she came to realize we only wanted to give her love and by the fourth day she was licking our faces!  Not once has she showed a single sign of aggression to an adult, child or another dog.  This beautiful girl needs to find a forever home where she will never have the need to run away again.

Our adoption fee of $125.00 helps cover expenses (vaccinations, spay/neuter, food, housing) for the homeless pets we rescue. UAF does not ship our adoptables out of state and to ensure the best fit, UAF conducts a home visit to meet other pets and verify a safe, secure yard.
